How to download the audio (MP3) from a TikTok video
There are many reasons to want only the audio of a TikTok: you loved the sound and want it as a ringtone, you'll use the sample in another video, or you just want to save the music without carrying the full video file. In this guide I'll show you how to extract the MP3 from any public TikTok, with nothing to install.
Why download just the audio?
An MP3 file takes a fraction of the size of an MP4. For a 30-second TikTok, the MP3 might weigh 500 KB while the MP4 can easily go past 5 MB. This matters if you're going to:
- Use it as a ringtone (phones only accept audio)
- Send the sound via WhatsApp/Telegram as a voice note
- Add it to a sample library for music production
- Upload it to another platform where video doesn't apply
Step-by-step download
1. Copy the TikTok link
Open the video, tap Share (the arrow) and choose Copy link. If you're on a browser, copy the URL from the address bar.
2. Paste it in TikSavr
Go to tiksavr.com, paste the link in the main input and tap Search video.
3. Choose Audio MP3
It shows you the video thumbnail and quality options. Instead of choosing 1080p / 720p / 480p, tap Audio MP3. The difference is that instead of downloading the full video, you get only the audio track.
4. Download the file
Tap Download and the MP3 saves to your downloads folder. The filename will be something like tiksavr_video-title.mp3.
MP3 quality
Time for honesty: the audio quality we extract is the same as the audio of the TikTok video. TikTok compresses audio when the video is uploaded, so don't expect studio quality. For most uses (ringtones, short samples, listening to the music) it's perfectly fine.
If you need higher quality, look for the original song on Spotify / Apple Music or ask the creator for the source file.
Legal uses of the downloaded audio
What you can do without issues:
- Personal use: listening, ringtones, alarms, personal archive
- Education: using short snippets in presentations or musical analysis
- Backup: saving audios you like in case TikTok removes them
What you SHOULD NOT do:
- Upload it to Spotify/YouTube/SoundCloud as if it were yours
- Use it in ads or monetized videos without permission
- Redistribute it on music download sites
Frequently asked questions
What quality is the MP3?
We deliver the original audio from the TikTok video, generally at 128-256 kbps. Plenty for listening on any device or using as a ringtone.
Can I download just a snippet?
No. We give you the complete audio of the video. To trim a snippet you can use any audio editor (Audacity for free, or your phone's Music app).
Does it work with original audios and song sounds?
Yes, the system downloads whatever you hear in the video as-is. If the creator used a commercial song, you'll get that audio.
Is it legal to use TikTok audios as my own content?
For personal use, yes. To repost or monetize content with copyrighted audios (commercial music), you need permission from the owner. Same policy as any music download.
